Privacy Policy
Your manuscript is unpublished intellectual property, and LemonPress treats it that way. This policy describes what LemonPress collects today, what is still to come, how your information is used, and the choices you have. LemonPress does not sell your manuscript and does not use it to train its own models without your explicit consent.
What this policy covers, and what is not live yet
LemonPress is in active development. This policy describes LemonPress's current practices and clearly separates them from features that are not switched on yet. Where something is future, this policy says so. Payments, outbound email, and real AI processing are not active at this time.
Information LemonPress collects today
Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password. Book project information: the details you enter about your book, such as its working title, author name, book type, and optional description. Book Library listings: if you opt in, the public information you approve for display. The notify list: if you ask to be told when LemonPress opens, your first name, email address, and whether you asked to be considered for early beta access, kept by LemonPress and copied to Kit, the email service LemonPress uses to send that one email and, if you asked to be considered for the beta, a note first. Nothing else is collected from that form, and the list is never shared or sold. Usage and security information: basic technical records needed to operate and protect the service, such as a record of key actions in your account. LemonPress keeps an activity log of service events that records what happened and identifiers, not the text of your manuscript.
Information collected when features become active
Manuscripts and uploaded files: when manuscript upload is enabled, the files you upload and the text extracted from them, stored privately. Author Fund applications: when applications open, the limited information described below. Payment information: when payments are enabled, they will be handled by a payment processor; LemonPress does not plan to store full card numbers itself. Communications: if you write in, the messages you send.
How information is used
To create and run your account, to provide the analysis and publishing tools you ask for, to operate the Book Library listings you approve, to secure the service and prevent abuse, to respond to you, and to improve LemonPress. Your information is used to provide the service you requested, not sold.
Your manuscript
LemonPress treats unpublished manuscripts as sensitive. Original files are stored privately and are not made publicly accessible or given guessable public links. Access is limited to operating the service. LemonPress does not sell your manuscript and does not use it to train its own AI models unless you separately and explicitly consent in the future. Security practices are described below, but no online service can promise perfect security, and LemonPress does not claim to be unbreachable.
AI processing (not active yet)
LemonPress's analysis features will use AI models to analyze manuscript content. A specific AI provider has not been selected. When one is, LemonPress will disclose which categories of provider process manuscript content, what is sent and why, and the retention and training protections that apply, before real AI processing is turned on. The intent is that manuscript content is processed only to provide your analysis and is not used to train models beyond what you agree to.
Service providers LemonPress relies on
Running LemonPress involves categories of providers such as hosting, database, and private file storage, and in the future email, AI or model processing, payments, and security or analytics. These providers process information only to help operate the service. Specific providers may change, and this policy will identify them at the appropriate level of detail as features go live.
Author Fund information
The Author Fund is designed to collect the minimum information necessary. LemonPress does not ask applicants to submit police reports, medical records, court documents, detailed accounts of traumatic experiences, or tax returns. Author Fund participation is private by default. Receiving assistance does not appear in the Book Library, on your profile, on your book, in marketing, or anywhere public, unless you separately and explicitly choose to share it. (Author Fund data handling is subject to attorney review, and no application form collects information until that review is complete.)
Cookies and session technology
LemonPress uses a secure session cookie to keep you signed in. There are no third-party advertising trackers today. If analytics or similar technologies are added later, this policy will be updated.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account, which removes your book projects with it. When you delete content, it is removed from the live service. Copies may persist for a limited period in routine backups before they age out; accurate backup-retention periods will be stated once providers are finalized. LemonPress does not promise instant permanent erasure from every backup, because that is not how reliable backups work.
Security
LemonPress uses measures such as encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access controls that limit each account to its own data, and private storage for manuscripts. Security is a priority, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and LemonPress does not claim otherwise.
Children
LemonPress is intended for adults publishing their work and is not directed to children. LemonPress does not knowingly collect information from children.
Where you are
Reserved for privacy review: obligations under US state privacy laws and, if LemonPress serves users abroad, international requirements will be addressed with counsel and reflected here.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as LemonPress develops. Material changes will update the version and effective date shown on this page.
