Terms of Service

LemonPress helps independent authors publish the book they wrote. You keep ownership of your book. LemonPress owns its software. The system analyzes and guides, but never rewrites your manuscript, and you make the final decisions about your book.

1. Who these terms are between

These Terms are an agreement between you (the author or visitor) and New Mindset Foundation LLC, doing business as LemonPress Books ("LemonPress"). By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. (The operating entity is a provisional working position pending final confirmation.)

2. Eligibility and your account

You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live to use LemonPress. You are responsible for your account, for keeping your password secure, and for activity under your account. Get in touch promptly if you believe your account has been used without your permission.

3. What LemonPress provides

LemonPress is a guided publishing system: software, analysis, workflows, and tools that help you understand your manuscript, prepare it, and navigate publishing. Some features are still in development and are clearly marked as not yet available; LemonPress may add, change, or remove features over time.

4. You own your book

You keep full ownership of your manuscript, your copyright, your intellectual property, your publishing rights, your royalties, and the characters, ideas, story, and research in your book. Using LemonPress does not transfer any of that to LemonPress. Nothing in these Terms gives LemonPress ownership of your creative work.

5. LemonPress owns its platform

LemonPress owns its software, technology, workflows, interfaces, analysis systems, tools, and branding. These Terms do not give you rights to copy, resell, reverse engineer, or build a competing service from the LemonPress platform.

6. The limited permission you give LemonPress

So that it can provide the service you ask for, you give LemonPress a limited permission to store, process, and analyze the manuscript and materials you upload, and to create the reports and materials the service produces for you. This permission exists only to run the service for you, is not a transfer of copyright, and ends when you delete the relevant content or your account, subject to the retention and backup realities described in the Privacy Policy.

7. AI never rewrites your book

This is a core rule of LemonPress, built into how the system works. LemonPress's AI-assisted analysis may read your manuscript to analyze it, identify possible issues, flag concerns, categorize, explain, point to specific passages, identify possible grammar, structure, citation, or fact-check concerns, and recommend areas for you to review. It may also help create marketing materials that are separate from your manuscript. It does not generate replacement prose for your book. The words of your book stay yours.

8. You are responsible for your book

You make the final editorial and publishing decisions. LemonPress does not guarantee accuracy, fact-checking, citation correctness, legal compliance, freedom from infringement or defamation, acceptance by Amazon KDP or any retailer, sales, reviews, rankings, media coverage, podcast bookings, or commercial success. The analysis is guidance to help you decide, not a guarantee of any outcome.

9. Editorial and fact-check limitations

Editorial analysis identifies things worth your attention; it is not a promise that everything else is perfect, and it does not replace a human editor, proofreader, fact-checker, sensitivity reader, or lawyer where those genuinely matter. Where professional human help is advisable, LemonPress will often say so, but the decision and the responsibility are yours.

10. Third-party platforms and services

LemonPress may guide you through outside platforms such as Amazon KDP and print or distribution services. LemonPress does not control those platforms and is not acting on their behalf. You are responsible for your accounts with them, their agreements, your final uploads, your metadata, your pricing, your rights declarations, any AI disclosures they require, and your compliance with their rules. To run the service, LemonPress relies on infrastructure providers (hosting, database, storage, and later email, AI, and payments); these may change, and the Privacy Policy describes how your information is handled.

11. AI disclosure and retailer rules

LemonPress is deliberately designed to preserve human authorship, because the system does not write your book. Even so, retailer and platform disclosure requirements depend on their current policies and on what goes into your final book. Using LemonPress does not by itself mean you never need to make a disclosure. You remain responsible for complying with the current AI-disclosure rules of any platform you publish through.

12. Marketing materials

Where you authorize it, LemonPress may use your manuscript and Book Blueprint to create marketing materials that are separate from the book, such as social content, extracted lines you approve, bios, outreach drafts, and launch ideas. This is different from rewriting your manuscript. You review and approve marketing materials before you use them, and you are responsible for how you use them.

13. The Book Library

Listing your book in the public LemonPress Book Library is optional and opt-in. If you opt in, you give LemonPress only the limited permission needed to display the specific public information you approve (such as your cover, title, author name, genre, an approved description, and an approved external link). You keep ownership of your book, and you can edit, hide, or remove your listing.

14. The 90-Day Launch Program

Where included or purchased, the Launch Program provides guidance, suggested actions, and materials around your publication date (roughly 30 days before through 60 days after). It does not promise sales, rankings, reviews, media, podcast bookings, or any particular result.

15. Fees and the Refund Policy

Prices for LemonPress packages are shown before purchase. Book packages are one-time purchases per book. Because LemonPress begins providing personalized digital services once you authorize processing, book packages become non-refundable at that point, subject to the exceptions and rights described in the Refund Policy, which is part of these Terms. Payments are not active yet.

16. Subscriptions

LemonPress currently offers no subscriptions. Every package is a one-time purchase for one book. If a subscription offering is ever introduced, its terms (price, billing frequency, automatic renewal, and cancellation) will be published here first and will be subject to attorney review and applicable law.

17. The Author Fund

The LemonPress Author Fund is intended to provide the complete Publish + Launch package, at no cost, to a limited number of qualifying authors each year. Participation is private and does not appear publicly unless you separately and explicitly choose to share it. Eligibility rules are not final.

18. Your promises about your manuscript

You represent that you have the rights needed to upload and process what you submit, and that your content does not infringe someone else's copyright, is not plagiarized, is not defamatory, does not violate privacy or publicity rights, does not contain confidential material you are not allowed to share, and is not otherwise illegal. LemonPress does not independently verify the legal status of your manuscript.

19. Acceptable use

Do not use LemonPress to break the law, infringe others' rights, upload malicious code, attempt to breach security, misuse the demo or free features, or interfere with the service or other users. Access may be suspended or ended for serious or repeated violations.

20. Developing features

Features marked as coming soon, in development, or in preview may be incomplete, may change, and may be turned off. Do not rely on them as final until they are generally available.

21. Disclaimers

LemonPress is provided "as is" and "as available." There is no promise that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, and no guarantee of any publishing or commercial outcome. Security is taken seriously, and those practices are described in the Privacy Policy, but no online service can promise perfect security.

22. Limitation of liability and indemnification

The extent of LemonPress's liability, and any obligation for you to cover claims arising from your content or your use of the service, are important legal terms that will be set with an attorney. (Limitation of liability and indemnification language is reserved for attorney drafting.)

23. Ending the agreement

You can stop using LemonPress and delete your account. LemonPress can suspend or end access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as ownership, disclaimers, and limits on liability) continue after the agreement ends.

24. Changes

LemonPress may update the service and these Terms. When there are material changes to the Terms, the version and effective date update, and where appropriate ask you to acknowledge them. Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

25. Governing law and disputes

Reserved for attorney decision: governing law, venue, dispute resolution, arbitration, and any class-action waiver are not set in this draft and will be determined with legal counsel.
